Last night Tripsichore, a yoga performance troupe, put on Seeking the Nectar. It was billed at a cirque de soleil type performance and did not dissapoint. I was able to hang out with some of the performers after the show and got some video of their interpretation of the show.
Here is video from a different performance. They performed this same sequence within the show put on at the Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park 2009.
Talked with Waylon of ElephantJournal.com during the lunch break today. Good stuff on transitioning from print to web. Times are tough now but Waylon has endless energy and will make it happen.
So I am signed up and ready to rock and roll in Estes Park, Co for the 14th annual Yoga Journal Conference. I will make a nice road trip out of it seeing some homies in the V and trying to catch an Asthanga class with Richard Freeman at Yoga Workshop in Boulder. It will be a great time to road trip it out of the Phoenix heat and enjoy the end of Colorado’s summer.
The first two days of the conference will be focused on Business and Yoga Workshop and its going to be pretty awesome. It pretty much covers everything you will need to know to start up a successful Yoga studio. From the looks of it MindBody have positioned themselves nicely to get a lot of leads from this.
After those two days is the beginning of the main conference and it does not look like it will disapoint either. For me the highlight is going to be hearing T.K.V. Desikachar speak twice. Here is the rest of my Schedule:
Friday 8am Desikachar – The Yoga of Breath and Mind
10:30 am Seane Corn – Detox Flow
3:30pm Judith Hanson Lasater – Sacroiliac Joint: Twists and Forward Bends Without Pain
Sat 8am Desikachar – The Yoga Sutra: The Practical Applications of the Yoga Sutra for Daily Living
11am David Swenson – Flying, Floating, and Handstanding
3:30pm Shiva Rae – Move for Change: Yoga Trance Dance
Sun 10am Gary Kraftsow – Common Aches and Pains: The Upper Back, Neck, and Shoulders
